Galaxy Nexus mute issue – A message to Google, Samsung & Verizon

The Galaxy Nexus is a great device, yet a horrible phone. My wife and I have been having the muting issue during calls for sometime now. She sees it a lot more as she uses her phone as a phone more often than I do. There are numerous posts all over the internet regarding this issue even a few on Google’s site, a few Google employees refer people back to their carriers which is sad since multiple carriers are having the same issue. I’ve read about this issue affecting CDMA and GSM phones, given the CDMA list seems a lot bigger. People have tried several replacement phones, replacement SIM cards, hard resetting their devices, install custom firmware and unreleased OS/radio updates to no avail.

There is a supposed software fix being released, was supposed to be the 1st of March, so no telling when it might actually happen.

If you are having these issues please star this topic on their site in hopes that they might pay attention to the issue.

Google, Verizon & Samsung one of you need to step up and take responsibility of this issue. Letting an issue like this get through testing is just poor quality checking and not something the end users should have to deal with. We bought this phone with the idea that we might be able to use it as a phone not just as a mini tablet/texting device.

Site rework – Photocrati Theme package

I wasn’t to happy with my old theme not working with Google Chrome so I decided to give another theme a try. Using the Photocrati theme pack, overall it has a lot of the things I want out of a WordPress theme, but there are some things that are lacking. When permalinks are enabled the ajax upload method basically stops working (having to keep permalinks off for now because of this), if I try to upload around 200 images to a gallery nothing happens (in groups of 50 or so I can get them up, but this process is rather annoying), importing from NextGen gallery or any other gallery is broken at the moment (supposedly a fix is coming out) & not having a feature of batch import from a server folder location is annoying on top of all the other issues I’ve been running into (Nextgen gallery spoiled me with this).

Time will tell how well this theme will work for me, looking forward to the bug fix release and the release of 4.1

Our daughter was born on April 3rd 2011 at 10:38am, she weighed 8lbs 6.4 ounces and 21 inches long.

Portland & Boston August 2010

Photos from our trip to Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine. The majority of photos from Boston were at the Boston Aquarium and a few around Harvard. The photos from Portland were from a trolley tour of the city and a boat tour of the harbor.
